St. Anthony Foundation
St. Anthony is at ground zero of the homeless and fentanyl crisis in San Francisco. I am an active volunteer, serving food, cleaning the kitchen, and providing a helping hand wherever needed. I especially loved putting my Spanish skills to good use and being able to communicate with people in their native language. It was such a joy to be able to connect with people and make them feel seen. Working at St. Anthony’s was originally my core service project at school, but I loved it so much that I went above and beyond what was asked. The priests there gave me two rosaries to thank me for my time there, one for me and one for my grandmother.
Global Leadership Adventures in Costa Rica
This past summer I did service work in Costa Rica, helping to rebuild sports facilities. I learned so much about the community and Costa Rica as a whole. This kind of service fills me with gratitude and a desire to give back.
